PRAYER AT HOME BEFORE GOING FOR WEDDING

HEAD OF THE FAMILY: Our Father in heaven

ALL: Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth / as it is in heaven. Give us this day the bread we need / and forgive us our debts and sins / as we have forgiven those who offended us. Do not let us fall into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For, Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

HEAD: O Lord God, You have honored this house with Your presence. We lift our hearts to You on the wedding day of Your servant and our beloved son (daughter) … (name). Lord, our way and guide, putting all our hope in you, we prepared this servant for marriage and leading him (her) to the holy altar. O Everlasting Lord, kindly protect us with Your kindness.

ALL: Amen

HEAD: God will ensure the safety of the family He has designed. Now is the time when our family needs that protection the most. Let us all request it by praying, “Lord, we trust in You”.

ALL: Lord, we trust in You.

HEAD: You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shade of the Almighty,
Say to the LORD, “My refuge and fortress,
my God in whom I trust” (Ps 91:1).

ALL: Lord, we trust in You.

HEAD: He will shelter you with his pinions,
and under his wings you may take refuge;
his faithfulness is a protecting shield (Ps 91:4).

ALL: Lord, we trust in You.

HEAD: I rejoiced when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the LORD” (Ps 122:1)

ALL: Lord, we trust in You.

HEAD: Lord of all, we praise you. Jesus Christ, we glorify you.
Because you are the one who raises our bodies and saves our souls.

SER: Let us pray. Peace be with us.

HEAD: Heavenly Father, unite Your servant with the bond of love through the sacrament of marriage. Give strength to trust and be faithful to each other in married life. Allow your servant to experience God’s blessings and be happy with mutual understanding.

Loving Father, let the memory and prayers of our dear ones who have passed away from this family and live in happiness with You help us.

May Jesus, who graced the wedding at Cana with His first miracle and made marriage so glorious, bestow His blessing upon the married life of …. and …. (names). Blessed Mother, who interceded for that family, always intercede for them. Saint Joseph, we pray that this family may be filled with love, respect, and devotion to God, similar to the family of Nazareth.

May the Almighty bestow His blessings upon the relatives and supporters who are here to celebrate this joyous occasion.
