PRAYER BEFORE GOING TO THE CHURCH FOR BAPTISM

LEADER: Glory to God in the highest.

ALL: Amen.

LEADER: Peace and hope to people on earth, now, always and forever.

ALL: Amen.

LEADER: Our Father in heaven

ALL: Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth / as it is in heaven. Give us this day the bread we need / and forgive us our debts and sins / as we have forgiven those who offended us. Do not let us fall into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For, Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

LEADER: God the Father, we gratefully remember your infinite mercy. We humbly offer our gratitude for all the blessings You have given this family. Now we bring this son (daughter) to the church to receive the sacrament of baptism. We hope that this infant becoming a part of the church today will be a source of support and shelter for this family. Keep this baptized son (daughter) in sanctity forever. Fill this child with the grace of the Holy Spirit. We request the eternal protection of the guardian angel for this baby. Holy Mother, may you continue to intercede to your Holy Son for this child. Amen.

LEADER: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
