ALL: Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day the bread we need and forgive us our debts and sins as we have forgiven those who offended us. Do not let us fall into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For, Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

(If the water needs to be blessed)

CEL: O Lord, who has enabled humankind to cure illnesses and expel demons, liberate us from all physical and spiritual afflictions. Almighty Lord, You have declared that we must be reborn by water and the Holy Spirit in order to enter Your kingdom; we ask that You sanctify this water for Your honor and our benefit. Provide special protection to the people who use it and the places where it is sprinkled. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

(Blessing of Statues or Holy Pictures)

CEL: O God, who has chosen us to be the living imitators of Your Holy Son, bless + these statues (Holy pictures). May these statues (images) that we have installed in Your honor always remind us of our Lord Jesus Christ. We humbly ask that You be present with us as we assemble in front of these sacred statues to offer prayers. We humbly ask that you accept our prayers, bestow your blessings upon us, and aid us in living righteous lives. Now + always and forever Amen.

(The celebrant sprinkles holy water on the statues and holy items).

CEL: Lord our God, bless this house and its inhabitants. Protect them from all spiritual and physical dangers. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

CEL: How lovely your dwelling is, O Lord of hosts!

ALL: Blessed are those who dwell in your house!

CEL: One day in your court is more desirable
than a thousand days in another place.

ALL: I prefer the doorsteps of God’s house
to the tents of the wicked.

CEL: Merciful Lord, accept this house of ours as your dwelling place. Be with us every day, comforting us in our sorrows and helping us in our needs. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

CEL: May the Lord who said, “I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness” (Jn 8:12) be the light and life of this house.

CEL: Lord our God, illumine our hearts and minds to hear and understand the sweet voice of your life-giving and divine commandments. In Your mercy and grace grant that they bear in us the fruits of love, hope, and salvation beneficial to our body and soul and that we may constantly praise You. BIBLE READING

READER: A reading from the Book of Exodus (12:1-13).

The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: This month will stand at the head of your calendar; you will reckon it the first month of the year. Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth of this month every family must procure for itself a lamb, one apiece for each household. If a household is too small for a lamb, it, along with its nearest neighbor, will procure one, and apportion the lamb’s cost in proportion to the number of persons, according to what each household consumes. Your lamb must be a year-old male and without blemish. You may take it from either the sheep or the goats. You will keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then, with the whole community of Israel assembled, it will be slaughtered during the evening twilight. They will take some of its blood and apply it to the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. They will consume its meat that same night, eating it roasted with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Do not eat any of it raw or even boiled in water, but roasted, with its head and shanks and inner organs. You must not keep any of it beyond the morning; whatever is left over in the morning must be burned up.

This is how you are to eat it: with your loins girt, sandals on your feet and your staff in hand, you will eat it in a hurry. It is the LORD’s Passover. For on this same night I will go through Egypt, striking down every firstborn in the land, human being and beast alike, and executing judgment on all the gods of Egypt – I, the LORD! But for you the blood will mark the houses where you are. Seeing the blood, I will pass over you; thereby, when I strike the land of Egypt, no destructive blow will come upon you.

CEL: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, proclaimed by St. Luke (19:1-9).

ALL: Glory to You Christ, Our Lord.

CEL: Jesus came to Jericho and intended to pass through the town. Now a man there named Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector and also a wealthy man, was seeking to see who Jesus was; but he could not see him because of the crowd, for he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree in order to see Jesus, who was about to pass that way. When he reached the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house.” And he came down quickly and received him with joy.

When they all saw this, they began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to stay at the house of a sinner.” But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I shall repay it four times over.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house.”
